Mosaic Wall · Corporate & Brand Activations

Your guests build your logo, one tile at a time

They stick it on themselves. That's the whole trick.

A guest gets photographed, their tile prints in seconds with coordinates on it, and they walk over and press it onto the board in the right spot. Do that four hundred times and a wall of real faces resolves into your brand — assembled by the people in the room, not projected at them.

The Moment

The guest places the tile, not the attendant

Every printed tile carries large coordinates — readable by a nine-year-old in a dim ballroom. Guests read the number, find the square, press it down, and step back to look at what they just joined.

Why that matters more than it sounds

  • Walking to the board and pressing a tile is a physical act — people remember doing it
  • They come back later to check whether the picture has appeared yet
  • They bring other people over to show them where their face is
  • A screen showing the same mosaic gets glanced at and walked past
True Mosaic

You can find your own face in ours

There are two kinds of photo mosaic and they are not close to the same product. Worth knowing which one you're being quoted.

What we run

A true mosaic

Built only from real guest photos. Up close, every tile is a recognisable picture of someone who was there. Step back and the brand image appears out of the arrangement. Guests hunt for themselves, which is the behaviour you're paying for.

What to watch for

A ghost overlay

The brand image gets printed on top of the photos and washes them out. It looks fine in a render and disappoints in a room, because nobody can find their own face and so nobody walks up to look for it.

How It Runs

Photo, tile, wall, reveal

Guests submit a photo

At the booth station, by SMS, through a QR portal, or straight off your event hashtag on Instagram and X.

The tile prints in seconds

Real-time printing, not a batch run. The board keeps filling all night instead of jumping forward twice.

They place it themselves

Printed coordinates point at one square. Guests find it, press the tile down, and become part of the picture.

The image emerges

Your logo, product shot or campaign artwork resolves out of the tiles as the board fills — slowly enough that people keep checking.

It always completes

Pre-loaded brand tiles fill any squares guests didn't reach, so the reveal lands whether 180 people came or 900 did.

You keep the artwork

The physical board goes home with you, and a digital master of the finished mosaic is delivered afterwards.

The Credential

The crew behind it ran the JUNO After Party

★★★★★
We worked with PicBooth at the JUNO Awards Official After Party in support of MusiCounts and the experience was nothing short of AMAZING. The guests were so happy. … MusiCounts would 10000000% work with them again.

Physical, Digital, or Both

Two formats, usually run together

Physical

A board you take home

Sticker tiles on a mounted board, placed by guests through the night. It ends the event as a finished piece of artwork built by the room, and it goes on a wall at the office.

Digital

A screen the whole hall can see

The mosaic assembles live on a large display, tiles animating into place. Visible from across a trade-show floor, which pulls people toward the station.

What It Costs

Quoted to the board, not off a rate card

Board size and guest count change a Mosaic Wall number too much for a published price to be honest, so we don't publish one. Send the headcount and the room and you get a real figure, usually the same day.

  • Deposit is a flat $100, same as everything we rent
  • Balance due 14 days before the event
  • Deposits transfer for 18 months if the date moves
  • Travel is included, never added afterwards
Questions

Mosaic Wall rental, answered plainly

What is a Mosaic Wall activation?

Guest photos print as small tiles during your event and go up on a board one at a time. Each tile carries printed coordinates telling the guest exactly where it belongs, so they place it themselves. As the board fills, the arrangement of real photos resolves into your logo, product or campaign artwork.

What's the difference between a true mosaic and a ghost overlay?

A true mosaic is built only from real guest photos — up close you find your own face, from across the room the brand image appears. A ghost overlay prints the brand image on top and washes the photos out, so nobody can find themselves. We run true mosaics, because finding yourself is the entire reason people walk up to it.

How many photos does it need?

Depends on board size — roughly 200–400 for a smaller board, 500–2,000+ for large format. We size the board to your headcount and event length so it finishes on time, and pre-loaded brand tiles fill any gaps so the reveal always lands.

How much space does it need?

About 10×10 feet for the board, the photo station and guest flow. The board itself runs from a compact 4×4 ft up to large format. Send a floor plan and we'll recommend a configuration for the room.

Is it physical or digital?

Either, and most events use both — a digital display building live during the event, plus a physical board of sticker tiles guests place themselves, delivered to you afterwards as finished artwork.

Can guests submit from their own phones?

Yes — SMS, a QR code portal, or your event hashtag on Instagram and X. Photos pulled that way join the mosaic in real time, which gives people a concrete reason to post during the event rather than after it.

Can we collect contact details?

Guests submitting by SMS or QR portal give a name and email as part of the submission — a CASL-compliant opt-in traded for taking part. The list arrives as a CSV after the event, ready for your CRM. Same arrangement as our Draw Bot stations.

What does it cost?

Quoted per event — board size, guest count, hours and branding work move the number too far for a rate card. Deposit is a flat $100, balance 14 days before, travel included. See the full rate card for everything we do publish.

Conference, gala, or trade show?

Send the date, the room and the headcount — we'll size the board and quote it, usually same day.
