Draw Bots · Live Caricatures

A robot caricature artist that draws your guests live

Big head, small body, your logo along the bottom.

A camera takes one photo, software turns it into caricature line art, and a robot arm draws it in pen while the guest watches — one to three minutes a sheet. Several bots run side by side, so a room of 400 gets 400 caricatures instead of a lineup that never moves.

Robot or Human

A caricaturist or a robot? It depends on the room

Both draw people. They are good at different jobs, and the right booking is the one that fits your guest count and what you want guests to leave with.

Book a live caricaturist when

You want a performer

  • The banter between artist and guest is half the entertainment
  • You want someone roaming between tables, not holding a station
  • The crowd is small enough for one pen to reach everyone
  • A hand-drawn style unique to one artist matters more than speed
Book the Draw Bots when

You need volume and branding

  • Several arms work at once — 20 to 60 sheets an hour, each
  • Every sheet is pre-printed with your logo, names or theme
  • Guests get a digital copy and you get the opt-in list
  • The arm drawing is itself the show, so people film it
How a Caricature Gets Made

One photo, one pen, one guest at a time

Stand still for one frame

Our attendant takes a single photo. When the line gets long, guests can send a selfie by QR code instead and keep their place.

Watch the arm draw

Software exaggerates the face into caricature lines; the arm draws them in pen on your branded sheet. Realistic portraits are the other option on the same bot.

Walk off holding it

The finished sheet goes home with the guest. A digital copy lands in their inbox — optionally as an animation of their face being drawn.

The Output

Caricatures themed to the room they were drawn in

At the River Lions home opener every fan became a basketball player mid-dunk. At the JUNO After Party the sheets carried music notes and the JUNO mark. Theme, frame and logo are designed before the event — the face is the only part left to the night.

"Some AI bots for caricatures," as the client put it

★★★★★
We worked with PicBooth at the JUNO Awards Official After Party in support of MusiCounts and the experience was nothing short of AMAZING. The guests were so happy. We had one photo booth and some AI bots for caricatures. Thank you to Rick and the whole team who made this happen for us. They were kind, professional, resourceful, and understanding. MusiCounts would 10000000% work with them again. Can't say more positive things!

Where Caricatures Work

Four kinds of event that book caricatures

Parties

Birthdays, milestones and retirements

A 40th, a 60th, a send-off for someone after thirty years. Every guest leaves with a drawing of themselves, and the sheets can carry the guest of honour's name and the date.

Weddings

Cocktail hour, mostly

Guests walk back to their tables holding a caricature with your names on it, and compare them over dinner. The wedding version has its own page: Draw Bots for weddings.

Corporate

Galas, launches and trade show floors

Your logo on every sheet, and an opt-in list from the guests who wanted their digital copy. See Draw Bot rental for corporate events and our trade show booth attractions.

Community

Game nights, festivals and family days

Arena concourses and outdoor family days, where the line has to keep moving and the keepsake has to survive a trip home in a backpack. Kids treat the line art as a colouring page.

Questions

Robot caricatures, answered plainly

What is a robot caricature artist?

A Draw Bot: a camera photographs the guest, software exaggerates the features into caricature line art, and a robotic arm draws it in pen while the guest watches. Each sheet takes one to three minutes and carries your logo, names or event theme.

Is it a real drawing or a printed photo filter?

A real drawing. The arm holds a pen and draws the face stroke by stroke on paper pre-printed with your branding. The software decides the lines; the pen puts them on the page in front of everyone.

Is a Draw Bot the same as a robot sketch artist?

Same idea, different name. "Robot sketch artist", "sketch robot" and "drawing robot" all describe an arm that draws a guest from a photo. Ours draws in pen, in caricature or realistic style, on paper carrying your branding.

Is this a digital caricature?

Not in the usual sense. A digital caricaturist draws on a tablet and prints the screen. Here the drawing is made in pen, on paper, in front of the guest; the digital part is the emailed copy, which can be an animation of the sheet being drawn.

How many caricatures can it draw in an hour?

Between 20 and 60 per bot per hour, depending on sheet size and detail, and we run up to three bots side by side — 60 to 180 caricatures an hour at full strength. At the River Lions home opener that meant 400 fans and 400 different drawings in one night.

Can it draw couples, groups or pets?

Yes — couples, groups and pets. Bring the dog; it gets the same big-head treatment as everyone else.

Can the caricatures follow a theme?

Yes. The River Lions sheets drew every fan as a basketball player; the JUNO After Party sheets carried music notes and the JUNO mark. Sport, music, a holiday look or your brand colours are all designed before the event.

Does it work for kids?

It does. Children love watching themselves appear on the page, and clean line art doubles as a colouring sheet once they get home. It works at family parties and community days as well as adult-only events.

Do guests keep the original?

Yes. The sheet the arm drew is handed over on the spot, and a digital copy is emailed to the guest. The digital version can be an animation of the caricature being drawn.

What does the venue need to provide?

About 8×8 feet per bot and one regular outlet. We arrive about 40 minutes before guests to set up, bring our own hotspot so venue Wi-Fi is optional, and work indoors or outdoors.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. A flat $100 deposit holds it, and a custom sheet design needs the artwork about two weeks before the event. Book as early as you can — some 2027 weekends are already fully booked.

What do corporate clients get afterwards?

The opt-in list as a CSV — names and emails guests gave willingly for their digital copy — plus a short report of portraits drawn, participation and shares.

How much does a robot caricature artist cost?

Draw Bots start at $1,000, then the event is quoted: hours, guest count, number of bots and the sheet design set the final figure. The deposit is a flat $100 and the balance is due 14 days before. Everything with a published price is on the rate card.

Where do you bring the Draw Bots?

St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto and the rest of the GTA. Travel is included in the quote.

Birthday, wedding or game night?

Send the date and roughly how many guests. We'll tell you how many bots the room needs — and if one is plenty, we'll say so.
