Brand activations people stop for, hold, and take home

Impressions are an estimate. A sheet on someone's fridge is not.

A brand activation puts your brand into a live moment people choose to join. Ours end with an object in a guest's hand — a portrait a robot drew of them, a co-branded print, a keychain — plus an opt-in list and a report of what happened. We run them for sponsors at festivals, concerts and game nights, and for brands launching something of their own.

Counted, Not Estimated

Four things you can count afterwards

An activation should leave numbers on your desk the next morning. These are the ones we hand over.

Keepsakes made

Every one carries your mark

Portraits drawn, prints made, keychains pressed. Each is a physical object with your logo on it that left the event in someone's bag, and we count them.

Opt-ins collected

A list people chose to join

Guests give a name and email to receive their digital copy. Consent is recorded at the station, so the CSV you receive after the event is CASL-compliant and ready to import.

Cost per opt-in = activation fee ÷ opt-ins collected.

Participation

How much of the crowd took part

Sessions against attendance tells you whether the placement worked. A station tucked behind a pillar shows up in this number, which is why we fight for a spot people walk past.

Participation rate = sessions ÷ attendance.

Shares

Reach you didn't buy

Digital copies sent and shared — including animations of a portrait being drawn stroke by stroke, which people post without being asked. Your branding travels in every one.

Types of Activation

Types of brand activation, and the ones we run

We are the station inside the plan — not the sampling team, the street team or the strategy deck. These are the kinds of activation that station fits.

  • Sponsor activation: your brand at someone else's event — the River Lions home opener, the Jackson-Triggs concert series
  • Cause and charity: the fundraiser's mark on every keepsake — the JUNO After Party for MusiCounts
  • Festival activation: built inside the festival's own look — the Oakville Festivals of Film & Art
  • Exhibitor activation: your own booth at a show — see trade show booth attractions
  • Launch or opening: a product, a store or a new location, with the station themed to the launch
  • Internal activation: staff and client nights — see corporate event entertainment
Sponsor Activations

Sponsor activations: when your brand sponsors someone else's event

A sponsorship buys a logo on a banner. An activation gives the crowd a reason to walk over to it. Put your mark on the sheet next to the team's, the festival's or the charity's, and the booth becomes part of the sponsorship package instead of a separate line on the event budget.

  • Co-branded output: the event's mark and yours on one sheet
  • Placed where the crowd is: concourse, lobby, beer garden
  • Sized to the crowd: stations set by headcount, not guesswork
  • Inside the production: runs alongside the event, never over it

We used Pic Booth at our Film Festival -- it was a blast! Everyone had a great time with it. I highly recommend this for your event. People have a great time taking the pics, and they are studio quality prints.

How One Gets Built

From the brief to the report

The brief

Tell us the one result the activation has to deliver and how you will judge it — a list size, a sponsor obligation, content for a campaign.

The proposal

Format, number of stations, placement and a real price, built backwards from that result. Usually the same day.

The proofs

Sheets, frames and screens designed to your brand guide and approved by your team about two weeks out.

The paperwork

Certificate of insurance naming the venue or organizer, sent ahead of load-in at no charge.

The run

Our crew loads in, a trained attendant works every hour, indoors or out, and the station never looks closed.

The report

The counts, the opt-in CSV and the full gallery, delivered after the event for your recap and your channels.

Formats

Which format, for which job

The objective picks the equipment, not the other way round. The long version — ten ideas sorted by what they deliver — is in corporate event activation ideas, by objective.

Questions

Brand activations, answered plainly

What is a brand activation?

A live moment, at an event, where people interact with a brand instead of just seeing its logo. A good one gives guests something they choose to take part in and leaves the brand with something it can count afterwards.

What is the difference between a brand activation and experiential marketing?

Experiential marketing is the strategy of reaching people through experiences. A brand activation is one of those experiences, run at a specific event on a specific day.

How do you measure a brand activation?

We report what can be counted: keepsakes made, the opt-in list with consent, how much of the crowd took part, and how many digital copies were sent and shared. You also get the full gallery for your own channels.

How far ahead should we book a brand activation?

As soon as the event date is fixed. A proposal usually comes back the same day, a flat $100 deposit holds the date, artwork is proofed about two weeks out and the balance is due 14 days before. Book as early as you can — some 2027 weekends are already fully booked.

How much does a brand activation cost in Ontario?

Ours start from published figures: Draw Bots from $1,000, a keychain or magnet station $400 for up to 100 guests, both together $700, a Magazine cover booth from $1,000 for the day, and a custom-printed 8×8 backdrop you keep for $200. Multi-day or multi-station activations are quoted from the days, hours and number of stations.

How many guests can one Draw Bot station serve?

Twenty to sixty an hour per bot, with up to three running side by side and a QR selfie queue for the rush. At the River Lions home opener that added up to 400 fans drawn in one night.

What goes in the sponsor's recap?

Keepsakes made, participation rate, digital copies sent and shared, the full gallery, and the opt-in list as a CSV.

Can the sponsor receive the opt-in list?

Yes. Data capture is priority one at trade shows and activations, so the consent wording is agreed before the event and names who receives the list — the sponsor included.

Do you work with agencies?

Yes. We can work through an agency as the station inside its plan, and we are fully insured, with a certificate naming the venue, the organizer or the agency on request.

Can our logo and the event's logo both go on the output?

Yes. Co-branded sheets and prints carry the event's mark and the sponsor's together. Send both sets of artwork about two weeks ahead so the layout can be proofed by everyone who needs to approve it.

Do activations work outdoors?

Yes, with power and a covered spot. Tell us the site, whether that is a beer garden, a concourse or a festival tent, and we will say exactly what the station needs.

Are you insured for festivals and public venues?

Yes. Every booking carries commercial general liability insurance, and the certificate can name the venue, the event organizer or your company as additionally insured, on request.

What does a brand activation cost?

Activations are quoted from the objective, the days and hours, the number of stations and the branding work. The deposit is a flat $100, the balance is due 14 days before, and travel is included.

Where do you run brand activations?

Brand and experiential marketing activations across Niagara, Hamilton, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto and the rest of the GTA, from our base in St. Catharines.

Sponsoring something this season?

Send the event, the date and what the sponsorship has to show for itself. We'll build the activation backwards from that.
